Friday’s Primal Success Story: Melicious Joulwan

Melissa “Melicious” Joulwan started a blog The Clothes Make the Girl, packed with tales of her triumphs and failures in the gym, in the kitchen, in life.

From grade school to the day she graduated from college, she was a self-described “chubby nerd and an easy target”.

Melissa found CrossFit in 2007, and although she worked out regularly, she “didn’t FEEL strong, inside or out. I had insomnia and allergies and stomach aches. My body didn’t feel like it belonged to me.”

In 2009, Melissa switched to a Primal lifestyle by committing to the dietary guidelines of Melissa and Dallas @ Whole9Life, She dumped grains and dairy, did a series of Whole30 cleanups, committed to eight hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT, and eventually, “made friends with food and my body.”

Melissa says she has excellent habits 95% of the time, and finally feels “normal.” Only she suspects “my normal is better than most peoples’”.   Awesome work Melissa!
