Welcome Three More People to the Primal Challenge!

Andy Soell, January Soell and Chuck Grimmett have all joined us in taking the 30 day challenge.

Andy is a fellow Ohioan that works for Team IJ remotely and lives with his wonderful wife January and their baby Lucy.  Antonie and I met Chuck this past weekend in New York at the FEE Mansion.   Chuck is a VFF guy that has been interested in getting in shape for some time, and a mutual friend suggested he give the 30 day challenge a shot.

Cool enough, all three of them have websites, which makes it easy to follow their progress.   As Andy wrote in an August 1 post titled Going Primal:

[D]uring the month of August, January and I are both committing to adjust our lifestyle a bit to fit into this mindset. Specifically, we’re going to be following a superset of the paleo diet known as the “Primal Challenge.” My friend and colleague Bob Ewing has it outlined in more detail on his web site, but It’s basically the dietary component of the paleo diet, along with a few other lifestyle changes designed to simplify your life a bit.

He goes on to describe the challenge and our 7 principles that he and January will be “sticking to for the month of August, and possibly thereafter if this results in the expected drop in weight, uptick in energy, and overall better health.”  The whole post is worth reading, see here.

As for Chuck, turns out he’s quite the chef:

Chuck’s already got some amazing food pics up on his site, along with great descriptions.   In a post deliciously titled Chicken and Spinach Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Chuck writes:

I’ve been doing quite a bit on diet and nutrition this summer and last Sunday I decided to take the 30 Day Primal Challenge. (Learn about the primal lifestyle at Mark’s Daily Apple.) For those of you unfamiliar with this, at the most basic level, I am not consuming any grains or refined sugar for the next thirty days. I am tracking my weight and measurements, as well as writing down everything I eat, how much I exercise, and my sleep patterns, so I will post about my experience with the challenge and the results at the end of the 30 days.

Andy, January & Chuck:   Keep up the awesome work!   And please join us here.  Stop by regularly to let us know how things are going, and share your advice and feedback.

Hey Bob, thanks for the post! FYI, I plan on doing a “First-third” report up tomorrow, detailing how things have gone for the past week. Preview: Awesomely.

Except for the glowing rectangles. We’re kind of technology addicts over here 🙂
